It's been almost three years since our dear friend Scott left us. Let's gather to eat some tailgating food, have some cold drinks, and share stories of our favorite NC State fan. All are welcome.

Feel free to park at the Eckerson’s driveway (5219 Melbourne Rd) and in the surrounding areas, then Uber/Lyft into the stadium area to join the tailgate.
We can shuttle a small group to and from the spot — but Uber/Lyft is probably your best bet.
Tailgate details
We've got a parking pass in Arena East 1551, plus an additional parking pass. We'll set up around 3:30–4:00 PM to get the main spot all dialed in, then shuttle people over between 4:00 and 5:00 PM. Come early and stay for the game, or swing by and head home whenever.
And the charcoal grill is happening — hotdogs and hamburgers will be on, so come hungry and we'll do it up right.
Joining later?
If you're rolling in with a big crew and need somewhere to leave the car, you've got a few options — either way it's gonna be some walking:
- • Bru's Public House — there's public parking over there, and you can walk through the tunnel to get to the stadium.
- • Street parking near the Wendy's across the street (Kingdom Hwy) — it's free, but it fills up fairly fast.
- • Powell Drive, not too far from the Burke Brothers — a little bit of a longer walk than the other two.
Do I Need Tickets?
Nope.
We'll be tailgating regardless.
NC State kicks off against App State at 7:30 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2026. We'll be out at the tailgate from around 4:30–5:00 on, radio on, conversations abound. Only buy tickets if you'd like to attend the game.
We're actively scouting tickets — we've secured 4 tickets thus far. Happy to swap in and out for whoever wants to go in for half / quarter / a spell, and right now they're going for about $100–$125 a piece.
Need tickets? Text Ben and he'll scour Marketplace and Craigslist for you.
What to Bring
We’ll have
- • Charcoal grill fired up with hotdogs and hamburgers (plus chicken sausages for Aubrey)
- • Generator + TV — the game's on ESPNU, so Ben will probably sacrifice his phone as the hotspot
- • A Ranch bottle with a pump dispenser (IYKYK)
- • Big cooler(s) stocked with ice
Word on the street is
- • Yang — a bunch of Bojangles biscuits (egg/cheese & chicken), rolling in around 4
- • Miranda — piggies in a blanket
- • Patrick — cucumbers with his cucumber sauce
